The latest news from European launch provider Arianespace indicates that the VINASAT-1 launch has been a success. An Ariane 5 launch vehicle deployed the VINASAT-1 satellite, along with the Brazilian Star One C2 satellite, into geostationary transfer orbit during a 31 minute launch mission yesterday.
VINASAT-1 will now proceed to the geostationary orbit where it will be deployed at the 132 deg. E slot, from where it will provide radio, television and telephone services for Vietnam and the Asia-Pacific region.
